SOLAR PROJECT MANAGER

ACK SMART ENERGY, Nantucket’s leading solar energy company, is hiring a full time Project Manager. The successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and for helping Nantucket increase its use of renewable energy. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager will be responsible for the on time completion of all solar installations. Strong communication, collaboration, organization and planning skills are required.  Previous experience within the solar industry is a bonus, but not required. Previous experience within the construction industry will be considered favorably.  This is a great opportunity to learn new skills in an exciting and growing industry.


Responsibilities include:

  • Developing the overall schedule and timeline for solar construction projects

  • Coordinating and communicating with the design, permitting, procurement and construction teams

  • Insuring projects complete on time, within scope and within budget

  • Communicating with and managing client expectations and needs

  • Preparing reports for management regarding project schedules and status

Compensation and benefits:

SOLAR ELECTRICIAN APPRENTICE

ACK SMART ENERGY, Nantucket’s leading solar energy company, is hiring an Electrician Apprentice. The successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and for helping Nantucketers reduce their electric bills. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills in an exciting and growing industry.  The successful candidate will have a curiosity for problem solving, enjoy work outdoors and thrive at being part of a team.  Previous wiring experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.


Responsibilities include

  • Assist electricians with system wiring

  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit

  • Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secure conduit support brackets

  • Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings

  • Strip insulation from wire ends and attach wires to terminals

  • Monitoring and organizing of in stock materials
